It's so hard not to get caught up in the stresses of Christmas. It has to be so "perfect" right?
When it comes to stressing perfection, I'm sorry to admit that I am the reigning queen.
Today, as I read to Madison from her "Oh little town of Bethlehem" light-up book I found myself explaining to her that our Jesus, (the son of Christ) was born in a stable (I said, "like a garage" so that she might understand)... This made me wonder. If it were I, would the completely "un perfect" conditions have made it any less sweet to be a part of such a wonderful miracle? I wonder then, does Christ look down on me today (shaking His head), saying "Can't she see how "perfect" it really is beyond the world's definition of perfect?" Hmm, food for thought in 2006!

Christmas 2006

This year was our first Christmas at "Home", here in North Pole. Though we missed our family and friends in Anchorage, creating memories of Christmas in our own home was priceless. Ron had our lights twinkling for all to see before Thanksgiving and our brand new tree was up and decked out the weekend before Thanksgiving ever came! We splurged on gifts for Maddie (one of the perks of being the only one... for now that is). She was absolutely exhausted half way through the present opening experience! It was wonderful. I remain a hopeless romantic and Ron played into my silly dreams by reading Christian-based Christmas books to Maddie on Christmas eve, attending the Christmas play at church and eating all the fudge I made! Just the beginning of many more beautiful memories of Christmas here in North Pole.!
